June 15th 2010 Lake Forest, IL, CIS announces the release date for
new Smart Client applications.

To complement the existing suite of browser based Configurator programs,
CIS is developing new smart client versions of its proprietary CIS Quotebuilder
and CIS Configurator programs. Production versions will be released to market
on September 15th 2010

These new Smart Client applications have the benefits of a thin client application
(automated install and auto-update) and a fat client application
(high performance, high productivity). The Quotebuilder SC and Configurator SC
applications will be delivered over an internet connection and have the look and
feel of desktop applications.

This approach facilitates more efficient processing for data-intensive environments
The user accesses the programs through the Internet offering remote access to data,
gets the responsiveness akin to a windows desktop application and because data is
not held on an individual computer, the control and security of commercially
confidential data is much improved in comparison to windows.

CIS sees pursuing this product development strategy as a critical step in launching
a series of powerful new applications throughout the next 18 months, which will
maintain the ease of use inherent in the CIS Quotebuilder and CIS Configurator
but offer new ways to drive configuration; an early example is a user friendly
non-CAD drawing tool which generates configurations, drawings and bills of
materials etc. Pricing for Quotebuilder SC and Configurator SC has not been
released at this time.
